This is a story about how a girl had to spend the summer with her aunty instead of staying home and hanging out with her friends because her parents went away on holidays and didn’t want to leave her alone with her brother.

“argh” said Bella.

” I don’t want to have to baby sit Sam all summer”

“Well then don’t, because you will be going to your aunts for the summer in Florida” said her parents.

“argh” Bella fumed as she stomped upstairs to her bedroom.

” You leave tomorrow at 10:00am” yelled her mum.

The next morning came and they were on their way to Florida, Sam and Bella didn’t know what to expect but they both knew that it was going to be a boring summer. As they arrived they were amazed by the house, the driveway was pebbles and the house was massive, they were both really excited to go inside but when…..

Hey guys I started this story off and can you please finish this story.

netiquette rules

Hey guys today I will be talking about 6 netiquette rules and explaining them.

Number 1- don’t identify yourself

When your online it is not always safe, when you are online or on social media it allows strangers to communicate with you, if this happens you must not ever give them any information about yourself or anything about you because you don’t know who they are.

Number 2- remember the human

The golden rule you parents and you kindergarten teacher taught you was pretty simple, do unto others as you’d have others unto you, imagine how you would feel if you were in the other persons shoes, stand up to yourself but try not to hurt other people’s feelings.

Number 3- have the same rules you have online that you have in real life.

in real life, most people are fairly law-abiding, because we’re afraid of getting caught. In cyberspace, the chances of getting caught sometimes seem slim. And, perhaps because people sometimes forget that there’s a human being on the other side of the computer, some people think that a lower standard of personal behaviour is acceptable in cyberspace.

Number 4- know where you are in cyberspace

What’s perfectly acceptable in one area may be dreadfully rude in another. For example, in most TV discussion groups, passing on gossip is perfectly permissible. But throwing around rumours in a journalists’ mailing list will make you very unpopular there.

Number 5- respect other peoples time

It’s a cliché that people today seem to have less time than ever before, even though (or perhaps because) we sleep less and have more labour-saving devices than our grandparents did. When you send email or post to a discussion group, you’re taking up other people’s time. It’s your responsibility to ensure that the time they spend reading your posting isn’t wasted.

Number 6-  make yourself look good online.

I don’t  want to give the impression that the internet is a bad place where people are who just can’t wait to insult each other, but that’s not true most people who communicate online just want to be liked. You won’t be judged by the colour of your skin, eyes, or hair, your weight, your age, or your clothing. If you use the net right.

Here is a website that gives you a more explained version of this.

advantages and disadvantages of internet use

Hey guys today I will be talking about the Advantages and disadvantages of internet use.

Advantages

With internet being available you can research easily without having to go to the library and look through heaps of books you can also email, text, FaceTime or skype your family or friends without walking to the post office to mail them, it is good because you can entertain yourself with movies, funny videos and YouTube also by using the internet you can use social media and talk to you friends and by using social media you can see what is happening all around the world also with social media you can keep you snapchat streaks.

Disadvantages

Even though social media can be a good thing it also comes with a disadvantages such as strangers can easily contact you and people can also cyberbully you through social media. Through internet you can post things you write like information reports and things like that but by doing that it also becomes available for people to copy it, through internet it is easier to get viruses by going on weird sites opening emails from strangers ads etc. also with internet it is easy to get carried away with it and spend hours on it.

So even though internet is good be careful and use it properly because there are a lot of disadvantages to it.

cyber safety

So just recently my class watched a video called game on and it is all about a group of kids using social media and there devices wrong. If you scroll to the bottom of the page the #gameon video is there.

Cyber safety is very important to younger students but is still important to anyone, if you want to be safe online you need to never ever give out your password to anyone even your closes friends because you never know maybe they will go on to your account and post something you don’t like, maybe you go online and something pops up saying you can get 100+ ringtones for free it is just a scam, nothing online is free. Here are some rules to be safe online.

  1. Never give your password to anyone not even your closest friends.
  2. Don’t talk to strangers, anyone can be there and you don’t know who they are.
  3. Don’t give out your photo to strangers.
  4. Always remember once you post something it will never be just yours again
  5. Be careful what you post because anyone can see it.
  6. Always read the terms, you can even just scan over it.
  7. Nothing is ever free
  8. Never give out your private details online.

Everyone makes mistakes just remember not to make them again.
